3 simple things you can do regularly to divorce proof your marriage
Yesterday I shared one of the three simple things that couples can do together to divorce proof their marriage. It’s takes work and commitment to stay together for the long haul.
So how do you know what to do to make the relationship work? That is the right question. There are plenty of resources that claim to having the solution to the problems that couples often face. The second simple thing that couples did to stay married was to read and discuss the Bible together.
You and your spouse must accept the Bible as the Word of God; as God’s means of speaking to you and humanity. (Joshua 1:8; 1 Peter 2:2; 2 Timothy 3:16) “The key to being God’s friend is knowing what He says. You can grow in love God and with each other as you get to know Him more and more, by reading and talking to each other about His Word.
When you read His Word, take time to meditate on the Word of God throughout the day. “When you think about a problem over and over in your mind, that’s called worry.
When you think about God’s Word over and over in your mind, that’s meditation. If you know how to worry, you already know how to meditate! You just need to switch your attention from your problems to Bible verses. The more you meditate on God’s Word, the less you will have to worry about.”
Here are three questions you can use as a couple to guide your bible discussion:
What is God saying in the text?
What is God saying to me?
What am I going to about what God is saying to me?
So then faith comes by hearing, and hearing by the word of God. (Romans 10:17 NKJV), (Deuteronomy 6:6-7)
Keep praying together, and keep talking about the bible together. It part of your commitment to Seek God’s help and guidance to Stay Together.
